Onich is situated a short distance from famous Ben Nevis and Glencoe in the stunning Scottish Highlands (lochaber).
This is an excellent base for exploring the beautiful scenery of the Scottish Highlands, as well as discovering the landscapes of the Mull and Oban, Loch Ness, Skye and Inveraray.There is a great variety of visitor attractions and activities nearby, including: hill and forest walking, climbing, mountain biking, fishing - sea, loch and river, sailing, boating and windsurfing, riding, pony trekking, golf, Funyakking, canyoning and Archery
The main road to Onich is the A82, which runs all the way from Glasgow. to Inverness. It is about 10 miles south of Fort William, to which daily train services run from Glasgow. Regular services connect Glasgow to the rest of the UK.
Bus services to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Oban, Fort William and Inverness also run in this region.
Loch Linnhe, a sea-loch with its southernmost reaches just to the north of Oban, splits into two 'fingers' at Onich, one stretching northwards and the other to the east.
